‘Fall/Rise’ is a series of images made using an analogue pinhole camera. The work satirises the suburban existence of the corporate grind, through the disintegrating ennui riven life of a reluctant career man, represented by an anonymous mannequin like figure. The four sequenced images hint at the 1970’s TV programme ‘The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin’ which starred Leonard Rossiter in the title role.
The title photograph was shown at the Shutterhub ‘To the Sea’ exhibition at St Gilles Croix de Vie in France from October 2023 to October 2024.
With grateful thanks to Dolly Delicious who kindly stood in the sea on a cold December day. Thanks also to Freddie Fair-Lander. Other images are self portraits, and also include a mannequin.
